One Formula Racing, based in Scales Mound, IL, won the 63rd running of the Sports Car Club of America’s June Sprints at Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI on Sunday in the Formula Enterprise 2 class with Mathias Soler-Obel of Bogota, Columbia piloting the #71 One Formula Racing FE2 car.   Rhett Barkau from Freeport, IL in the Barkau Automotive FE2 finished 3rd to give One Formula their four podium finishes for the weekend following Soler-Obel’s 2nd place finish and Port Byron, IL’s Max Grau’s 3rd place finish on Saturday.

Soler-Obel paced the field both days, setting a track record in qualifying.  Team owner Steve Stadel remarked “Mathias had a great run, doing consistent laps to maintain his lead over Paul Schneider from North Carolina.  Rhett had a tough race, starting from fifth to get to the podium”

One Formula Racing has the largest fleet of FE2 race cars in the US and has won Hoosier Super Tour races at Virginia International Raceway and the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and SCCA Major events at Blackhawk Farms Raceway near South Beloit, IL at the hands of Rhett Barkau.

Next up is the SCCA Major’s events at Gingerman Raceway at  South Haven, MI followed by the Cat Majors at Road America and the final Northern Conference Major’s race at Grattan Raceway in Belding, MI before the season ending championships at Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, CA
